Shrawan Mela

Savan Jhula of Ayodhya has got a great importance among fairs of Uttar Pradesh.

This fairs begins on the third day of Shukl Paksh of Shravan Maas of Hindu Panchang.

On this day, idols of deities from all the temples of Ayodhya are taken in procession leading

Mani Parvat where Jula (Swing Ceremony) is observed in the presence of people from all over the India.

In the evening they are taken back to their temples and Swing Ceremony is observed till the end

of Shrvan Maas. On the last day of Shravan Maas i.e. Shrawani Poornima also known as Raksha

Bandhan, Savan Jhula Mela disperses after bathing in the holy river Saryu.
